Rosario albergará la próxima edición de dichos juegos, que se disputarán en el año 2022. Tendrá 26 disciplinas distintas y se desarrollarán todas en las inmediaciones del Parque de la Independencia. Franco Albornoz, Director de Atención a los Comité Oímpicos Nacionales de la Secretaría de Deportes, habló este jueves en el programa Rompiendo Líneas y contó cómo se va dando la organización.
“Del 28 de abril al 8 de mayo será la tercera edición de los Juegos Sudamericanos de la juventud. Es uno de los eventos más grandes que tiene la Odesur”, explicó Albornoz. En el evento participarán 15 países y la totalidad de las disciplinas deportivas se desarrollarán en la zona del Parque de la Independencia, con Newell’s Old Boys y el Club Atlético Provincial. Entre las disciplinas que habrá, varía desde atletismo, futsal y hasta bádminton o ciclismo de ruta.
La Secretaría de Deportes espera que lleguen aproximadamente unos 2500 deportistas a la ciudad “acompañados por todos sus entrenadores y preparadores físicos”. Además, Albornoz destacó el trabajo en conjunto con el intendente Pablo Javkin, el secretario de Deportes y Turismo Adrián Ghiglione y la Subsecretaria de Deportes Noel Martino con los presidentes de Newell’s Old Boys y el Club Atlético Provincial. También se utilizará el Hipódromo de la ciudad y la ex Rural “en caso de que deje de usarse como vacunatorio” y dónde se realizaría la mayor cantidad de deportes.
En referencia a la pandemia, Albornoz dijo: “Desde los juegos de playa venimos trabajando con este equipo. Nosotros tenemos en cuenta a la pandemia, y estamos trabajando sobre dos escenarios, el escenario ideal que sería con el avance importante en el tema de la vacunación y con los cuidados pertinentes para llegar a llenar los estadios, pero también pensando en el escenario de que la pandemia siga pisando fuerte”.
También hizo hincapié en el arraigo “educativo y cultural” que tienen estos juegos más allá de lo deportivo: “Están organizadas diversas propuestas dónde se pondrá en juego mucho que tenga que ver con el medio ambiente, un laberinto sustentable en el fan fest. Además tendrá al Jardín de los Niños como polo central de la educación”, dijo.
Con el factor de la salud de por medio y teniendo en cuenta el desarrollo de la vacunación y la baja o suba de casos, los Juegos Sudamericanos de la Juventud ya aparecen en el calendario de los rosarinos amantes del deporte.
